DESCRIPTION:Festivals Malta on behalf of the National Festivities Committee will be holding the annual Independence Day Concert on the 21st day of September\, 2024 at 8pm at the Mediterranean Conference Centre\, Valletta. This year\, the concert is being held in commemoration of the 60th anniversary from Independence Day.\n\nThe concert will be taking place at Republic Hall at the Mediterranean Conference Centre and is open to the public.\n\nThe concert starts at 8pm with the participation of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Mro Michael Laus and the participation of mezzo soprano Marvic Monreal. The programme performed on the night will be as follows:\n\nAaron Copland: Fanfare for the Common Man\nCamille Saint-Saens: Mon cœur s’ouvre a` ta voix (Samson et Dalilah)\nLudwig van Beethoven: King Stephen\, Overture\, Op. 117\nAlexander Vella Gregory: Rhythmii vitae\nAugustin Lara: Granada\nJohannes Brahms : St Anthony Variations\nGeorges Bizet : Chanson Boheme (Carmen)\nCharles Camilleri: Mediterranean Dances\n\nThis concert is being held under the patronage of Her Excellency The President of Malta.
