To commemorate its 30th anniversary, the Mediterranean Conference Centre will be holding a concert by Demo Morselli and his Big Band Orchestra at the Republic Hall on the 20 March.
Born in Rolo, a small town in the lower part of the Emilia region, Demo Morselli obtained a diploma at the Institute G. Frescobaldi di Ferrara and is married to Lucia Motella, his manager. He is popularly known as the leader of the Demo Big Band Orchestra, composed of around twenty musicians, who regularly appeared on Italian TV programmes such as Buona Domenica and Maurizio Costanzo Show.
He collaborated both in terms of music arrangement as well as accompanying musician with international artists, such as Ray Charles, Simply Red, and some Italian artists, including: Mina, Fabrizio de Andrè, Elio e le Storie Tese, Adriano Celentano, Gino Paoli, 883, Eugenio Finardi,
Zucchero, Ligabue, Renato Zero, Orietta Berti and Jovanotti (whom he taught to play the trumpet).
In 2008 he moved to Rai, where he participated with his orchestra in Quelli che il calcio. He also participated with his orchestra in Chi fermerà la musica, a programme by Pupo and at the Partita del cuore 2008.
Mro Morselli has prepared a special programme of varied music such as swing, jazz and pop for MCC’s concert. No doubt the programme will also include popular Italian songs, soundtracks and medleys which should be well received by all those who attend.
