DESCRIPTION:In the 1590’s chiaroscuro artist Michelangelo Merisi from the town of Caravaggio makes his way to Rome with dreams of establishing himself as one of the leading artists of the time. His raw talent is undeniable and success swiftly comes his way. However\, his passion and volatile temper earn him as many enemies as he has admirers. At the height of his fame\, an impulsive outburst with lethal consequences causes him to flee the city as an outlaw. \nThe Knights of Malta offer redemption through patronage and refuge from his foes on an island fortress – but his real enemies are the ones he cannot escape from. His tortured soul that enables him to produce celebrated masterpieces provides him with no peace as it pulls him towards his inevitable destiny.\n\nCaravaggio the Musical marks the first time that the master painter’s life story has been depicted in the form of a stage musical. DESCRIPTION:The most successful Maltese musical of the 21st century is BACK! It-twerżiqa! Yes\, the smash-hit musical Il-Kbir Għadu Ġej will finally rock stage again\, bigger and better than ever. The hilarious show\, created by Sean Buhagiar\, based on the music of Freddie Portelli and penned by Malcolm Galea with musical direction by Mro Dominic Galea\, will feature most of the original cast. Kevin Borg will be leading the cast again as ‘Il-Kredu’\, rocking and rolling with the likes of Amber as ‘Lourdes’\, Marilena as ‘Georgette’\, Luke Dalli and Max Dingli as ‘Il-Bum u l-Bummer’\, Colin Fitz as ‘Kurun’\, Mark Tonna as ‘Alfred’\, Debbie Scerri as ‘Zija Pawlina’\, Michela Galea as ‘Yvette’\, Petra as Sylvia and many others. Il-Kbir Għadu Ġej is brimmed with over 25 of Freddie Portelli most known hits like Ħallini\, Viva Malta\, Flimkien\, Xewqat Sbieħ\, Se Jkolli Nemmen\, Għal Dejjem but it will also lesser known jewels like Bħalek hawn kemm trid\, Ma taħraqni B’xejn and Dak ir-Rock n’ Roll. It will run at the Republic Hall at the Mediterranean Conference Centre during late July and August 2022. The venue will be fully air-conditioned. The project is supported by Arts Council Malta\, Kinnie\, and produced by Balzunetta Productions. We all promise you the best night out this summer! Rock and Roll!

DESCRIPTION:Matilda The Musical\, the multi-award-winning musical adapted from the incomparable children’s novel by Roald Dahl\, will now be staged between 16th and 30th April 2022. \nTouted as ‘easily the standout musical of the decade’ by the UK’s Sunday Times\, and winning more than 90 international awards including 23 for Best Musical\, Matilda The Musical is the timeless story of an extraordinary little girl who\, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind\, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. \nWith its script by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin\, the show was premiered by the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon in November 2010\, before transferring to London’s West End where it continues to delight audiences both young and old today. \nMatilda The Musical has also enjoyed sell-out runs around the world\, including on Broadway\, and tours of Australia\, New Zealand\, the US\, the UK and Ireland. It has even had a non-English language production in Seoul\, South Korea.
